All you are asking for is to give your hand-crafted story a real-world home on your bookshelf.

Look at it this way, if CBS/Paramount don't let you publish your fanfic will it make you to buy any commercially available books? I doubt if it will bring them one extra cent.Kirok of LStokhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05342385515015039320noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1314557761910310493.post-53451407579065740432009-06-12T17:06:16.018-07:002009-06-12T17:06:16.018-07:00I completely agree with you on this point. My fan-fiction is almost 100 pages on a 8.5 x 11 paper. If I was to put this together, it would look aweful. I want to bind it for my own purpose (and to give to the family and friends who have supported me). Honestly, I think creating a fan fiction should mean something special.

What it should mean is that we care so much about the topic - we want to write our own. Literacy! Imagination! Isn't that what writing is all about - to inspire.

There should be an extra section on Lulu.com that is just for fan-fiction. The person would be limited to a certain amount of copies, etc.

Overall, why are the authors of Fan-Fictions being scrutinized by the money hungry marketers.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1314557761910310493.post-4284526289740083712009-05-12T07:57:00.000-07:002009-05-12T07:57:00.000-07:00Great article.

My goal was to give away the book as a gift for my family.

But I just found out in the FAQ that fanfiction is prohibited on Lulu.com.... I just couldn't believe it ! This is how I found your article.

As you say in your post, authors should be able to use POD to make personal, non commercial, copies for their work.

I didn't see such harsh policies for the t-shirt printing serices, for example. People are uploading their custom star wars / linux / mickey mouse designs and ordering their t-shirt. What's the difference with printing fan-fiction for personal use ?

Ooo i'm a little upset now. I'm going to give a look to your "do it yourself bookbinding" link :)n/ahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03822932675219768569noreply@blogger.com
